Top 10 Bathroom Remodel Trends in Boston

October 15, 2018
Renovate your bathroom into a luxury spa with our top 10 remodeling trends. Create bathrooms that will last and look great for years while stretching your dollars in all the right places with the following tips:

1. Herring Bone Tile.

No complicated cutting here.  Herringbone is a classic take on a chevron that doesn’t require additional cutting.  Chevron is more affordable and because it’s less trendy it’s less likely to fall out of style.

2. Open Shelving

Warm and affordable open shelving is a great addition to any bathroom.  Pick the right accessories to show off and enjoy easy access and beautiful, warm wood accents.

3. Feature Tile

Select some gorgeous expensive tile for an accent area to draw the eye.  It’s a great way to upgrade a shower area and create a stunning focal point or add some color and interest without expanding your budget a ton.

4. Geometric Accents

Geometric details are everywhere these days and a terrific (and easy) way to update a dated bathroom, especially in a light fixture that draws your eye up and makes a bathroom feel taller.

5. Frameless shower enclosures

Closed in showers are out, clean unframed showers are in and an easy way to keep your shower looking fresh.

6. Free-Standing Jetted Tubs

Nothing says luxury like separate tub and shower areas in an upscale bathroom addition.  There are thousands of spa-worthy soaking tubs to upgrade your bathroom with.

7. Large Tile

If you hate cleaning grout like we do, this is the solution for you.  Take advantage of over-sized tile for bathrooms to make them look modern and spacious.

8. Shower Seats

A marble shower seat is a great place to relax or shave a leg on and a must-have addition to a luxury shower.

9. Floating Vanities

If you enjoy a modern looking vanity that will reduce the nooks and crannies to clean, consider a floating vanity.  Even better, add under-mount lighting to a motion detector and enjoy just enough light for late night bathroom trips.

10. Flush Fit Drawers

Even classic styles can look updated with flush fit drawers.  You’ll love the flat front, and they usually come with soft close drawers, upgrading your bathroom addition to yet another level.

Let us take the pain out of your Boston bathroom renovation and additions.

We recently had the pleasure of completing this stunning master bathroom renovation for a wonderful client who is also a close friend. After an in-depth consultation, we developed a design plan centered around warm tones, natural textures, and elevated finishes. We began with the freestanding soaking tub as the heart of the design, building the entire space around it. From there, we installed a custom fluted vanity in a warm wood tone paired with brushed brass hardware throughout, including faucets, sconces, towel bars, and shower fixtures, creating a cohesive, polished look at every touchpoint. The frameless glass walk-in shower features floor-to-ceiling marble-look tile, while white quartz countertops and custom floating shelving complete the refined aesthetic. Our client loved it, and projects like this remind us why we do what we do! If you're considering a bathroom renovation, we'd love to help bring your vision to life. This master bathroom remodel in Sudbury came together beautifully, and we love how cohesive and welcoming the space feels, from the reeded double vanity to the spacious walk-in shower! We also renovated the kids’ bathroom, creating a space that’s bright, fun, and built to last. It features a custom white double vanity with plenty of storage, a white stone countertop with dual undermount sinks, and polished nickel faucets that are easy for kids to use. We used a soft green patterned wallpaper, round mirrors, and woven-shade sconces add warmth and personality, while adding wainscoting and light tile flooring keep the room practical and easy to maintain. Our client had one last request, a walk-in wardrobe / laundry area in the master bedroom, which has been a total game changer for everyday living. No need to haul the laundry up and down the stairs anymore! Interested in improving your space in 2026? C lick here today for a consultation!

This Cape-style kitchen was once dark, cramped, and dated, but the homeowners dreamed of something bright and welcoming. We opened up the layout, added larger windows, and let natural light flood the space. Crisp white cabinets now reflect that light beautifully and pair perfectly with the home’s warm wood tones. A small breakfast nook adds a cozy spot for morning coffee or casual meals, while playful pops of color bring personality and charm. The result is a light, cheerful kitchen that feels fresh, open, and perfectly in tune with the home’s mid-century character. Interested in transforming your space?
